Justin Ping founded RFV Architects in 2022 with the simple mission of delivering high-quality, high-performance buildings to clients who value design innovation and technical expertise. Justin has over 10 years of experience as a practicing architect and has designed dozens of projects across the country.
As a self-professed building science nerd, Justin is passionate about ensuring all of our projects perform at the highest standard - that our buildings are healthy and comfortable for occupants, and that they will stand the test of time. With experience designing for net-zero energy use and other green building standards, Justin is an advocate for sustainability in the built environment.
Justin holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelors of Art in Architecture from Miami University (OH). He is a member of AIA, a LEED Green Associate, and a WELL Accredited Professional, and is a licensed architect in the states of Colorado and Montana.
Outside of work, Justin enjoys mountain biking, trail running, skiing, fly fishing, rafting, camping, and practicing the art of bonsai. He lives in Columbia Falls, Montana with his wife Beth and their dogs.
Our Process
Investigation & Discovery
Every project site is unique, with its own set of opportunities, challenges, views, climatic factors, and more. To begin, we collect data related to the property to help provide context to begin design. Together with our clients, we work quickly to study different design solutions at a sketch level. This early discovery phase allows us to test ideas and uncover the best design solutions.
Once a concept is established, we develop the overall design at a more detailed level. Architectural drawings such as floor plans, building sections, exterior elevations, and construction details are developed. RFV Architects utilizes digital modeling for all of our projects, and we produce exterior and interior renderings for our clients.

Throughout construction, we closely monitor progress. We attend regular Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings, visit the project site as required, and work hand-in-hand with builders to minimize issues and improve the quality of the finished product.
